U of T Fall Convocation & Regal Tent!

U of T Fall Convocation & Regal Tent!

Between Monday and Thursday of this week, more than 4,800 students from all three University of Toronto campuses will receive undergraduate and graduate degrees. Combined with the numbers from this year’s Spring Convocation makes the U of T graduating class of 2017 more than 18,000 strong – absolutely remarkable!

Regal Tent has partnered with the University of Toronto to help erect Convocation Plaza on their St. George campus for five years now. We install a 20m x 50m Clearspan Tent for both the Spring and Fall Convocations every year, outfitted with heat, lighting, fans, ramps and railings, and carpet in the school’s signature navy blue. The installation takes place over four days with our experienced crew working hard to keep the project on schedule, all while managing safety at the busy work site on King’s College Circle.

The University of Toronto is one of Canada’s oldest educational institutions, and Convocation Plaza rests inside some incredibly beautiful historical buildings. Our tent installation drew many onlookers as we raised each of the 11 arches to their 20′ peak height with forklifts. We also use 3300 lb concrete weights to anchor this tent so we can preserve the grounds, and not have to stake holes into the ground. This tent is truly a site to behold among all the brick and stone and greenery of the beautiful campus.

We have been so honoured to work with U of T over the past five years, helping to create a space where their hardworking graduates can receive the praise and accolades they deserve for their achievements.  It is pretty amazing to think that almost 100,000 graduates have passed through doors of our tents since we started working with the University!
