Last week we had the pleasure of revisiting one of our favourite semi-annual events – Toronto Fashion Week! We wrote a blog post about our Fall Toronto Fashion Week experience late last year (click here to check it out first!), and the challenges we were faced with during the installation and removal of our 24′ x 426′ Clearspan tent along Yorkville Avenue in Toronto! It was one of the most rewarding events we have worked on in our 30 years in business, because it was so meticulously planned out, and everything went off without a hitch – a true success story!
The February incarnation of Toronto Fashion Week was a completely different set-up from the one we’d just finished a few months earlier, so it was back to the drawing board for design and tent location. Due to the cooler weather that February brings in Canada, Fashion Media Group (who organize this event) decided that they would utilize the interior of Yorkville Village for the fashion shows, and commissioned Regal Tent to build a level runway floor throughout the mall, which was comprised of various levels, multiple sets of staircases, and permanent structures like planters!
We were also asked to build a 10′ x 70′ Clearspan tent leading into the mall with several canopies that would keep the back of house patrons warm and dry (especially after leaving hair and make up!)!
It was another packed installation schedule this time around, but we were able to complete everything that needed to be done including the flooring, railing, tents, and custom stairs with more than enough time to allow our fellow suppliers in to work on their parts of production! In the end, it was another wonderful fashion event held by the amazing Fashion Media Group, which brings so much well-deserved recognition to the Toronto fashion market!
