Taste of Toronto occurs just once a year. In 2017, the event was held at Garrison Common, Fort York from June 15-18th. With more than 25,000 food-loving visitors in attendance, this is the highlight of the summer foodie calendar. Toronto’s latest, greatest and most exciting restaurants served taster size signature dishes, world-class chefs appeared in live cooking demonstrations and, as always, there were many opportunities to get hands-on with interactive Metro Master Classes and shop from an array of over 60 food and drink exhibitors.
Regal Tent Productions was the exclusive tent supplier for this year’s Taste of Toronto event, which required insightful planning to make sure all 64 tents got up without incident. The planning process started months ago with Regal President Michael McCulloch working alongside talented event planners to ensure that the site layout was impeccable, and that Taste visitors would be able to easily navigate through the event.
Our amazing crew was on site during the two weeks leading up to the weekend-long event to ensure seamless construction of the many tents, including a main stage and countless restaurant and vendor tents! With many of the vendors having different requirements for their spaces, we installed a total of 20 different tent styles during the installation period!
Along with tents, we also provided flooring for many of the interiors! Adding flooring to tents can take the structures to the next level of design and really make visitors feel like they’re in a permanent building, and not simply a tent! With options for all kinds of carpet, hardwoods, faux hardwoods, dance floors and more, adding flooring means you can put a tent absolutely anywhere, including the side of a hill, in an area that has a wet surface, or in the Garrison Commons like we did for Taste of Toronto!
This year’s event was a resounding success even in light of some rainy weather (thank goodness for all those tents to take shelter underneath!)! You definitely can’t keep Torontonians away from amazing food, drink and fun when the summer festival seasons hits!
