Markham Fair is an annual event hosted by the Markham and East York Agricultural Society, and is one of Canada’s oldest country fairs.  Since 1844 the fair has been providing the community with a showcase for talents and products in a friendly, competitive spirit. With over 750 volunteers working on more than 75 committees, Markham Fair is the largest community-based volunteer organization in Canada! The Fair occurs annually on the weekend before Thanksgiving, and hosts upwards of 60,000 attendees, with approximately 3,000 exhibitors entering more than 10,000 items to be judged and put on display during the event weekend. The Fair also includes various forms of entertainment such as a horse pull, demolition derby, tractor pull, midway rides, livestock shows, live bands and displays of farm animals.

Regal Tent has been partnering with the Markham Fair for a couple of decades to create the covered outdoor space needed for this huge event! This year we installed five tents ranging in size from 600 square feet (20′ x 30′ tent) to 12,000 square feet (82′ x 148′ tent) over the span of several weeks leading up to the big weekend! We sent a crew of 8 tent installers to work their magic, and they followed a comprehensive installation schedule to ensure that everything was ready to go well in advance of the Fair’s late September kick off!
