CAMH Groundbreaking!

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital, as well as one of the world’s leading research centres in the area of addiction and mental health. CAMH combines clinical care, research, education, policy development and health promotion to help transform the lives of people affected by mental health and addiction issues.

Regal Tent was fortunate enough to partner with CAHM for the groundbreaking of the most recent phase of their Queen Street Development Project which will see two new buildings boasting approximately 600,000 square feet of space, 235 inpatient beds, a 24/7 emergency department, a 300 seat auditorium and so much more!

This groundbreaking took place during Mental Health Awareness Week on October 2, 2017, and we provided a 50′ x 114′ Clearspan tent with a clear roof to host the festivities, which included a literal ground breaking at the new site’s footprint. It is an absolute honour to work with such important organizations, who are working to better the lives of those struggling with mental illness and addiction.  As CAMH President and CEO Dr. Catherine Zahn said:

“Today’s groundbreaking is the product of years of hard work and dedication in the service of transforming care for people with mental illness. Our new buildings will be so much more than walls, floors and ceilings.  They will be respectful and dignified places that promote healing and recovery.  They will be a powerful symbol of CAMH’s move away from institutionalization and towards integration within our community. And they will serve our academic mission to advance mental health research nationally and globally.”
