Nelson Youth Centre opened its doors in 1978 to meet the needs of youth in Halton. It is located in a renovated farmhouse owned by the City of Burlington, and since its inception, the Nelson Youth Centre has grown in response to the needs of its community. Today, the Centre is an accredited children’s mental health centre that provides a rich array of therapeutic group programs for children and youth as well as parent support services to support the emotional and social well being of children and youth while strengthening families in the community. This year marked their 40th anniversary, and Regal Tent was honoured to be able to provide a tent as part of our annual charitable giving program.
Their anniversary celebration was this past weekend on September 15th, and was held at the centre with the addition of a 30′ x 45′ Legacy tent out front to shelter the myriad of attendees from potential inclement weather. The tent boasted white roofs with upgraded clear walls so that everyone could feel like they were part of the outdoor event, and was anchored with stakes. This was a tricky site for staking as it required us to work around the many underground utilities that are located under the ground in front of the farmhouse, including loads of gas lines! Our skilled crew was able to navigate the terrain expertly, and install the tent the day before the event took place.
At Regal Tent, we love to give back when we can, and were very happy to donate this tent towards this important celebration of community in Burlington where our owners Michael and Susan McCulloch call home.
