Regal Tent Productions has been partnering with the Canada Walk of Fame on various events for years. One of our favourites has always been the intimate Music Under the Stars held in Northern Ontario annually, where guests and celebrities gather to hear and play beautiful music and raise funds for aspiring musicians!
Both Canada Walk of Fame and e=mc2 worked incredibly hard to pull this fabulous night together, and Regal Tent was honoured to be along for the ride again. This year we installed a 50′ x 100′ x 10′ Legacy tent with clear walls and alternating skylight white and clear roofs (we need to see those stars after all!), as well as a smaller kitchen tent. The challenge for installing these tents on site was anchoring, which required a mix of stakes (where possible) as well as water barrels and steel weights – all which needed to be hand carried to the tent location! As always, our wonderful crew got the job done quickly and efficiently and all was set for the concert to begin in more than enough time.
There were some talented musicians, a guitarist/singer and a saxophonist who played during the arrival of guests and cocktail reception. This was followed by opener Shawn Hook who was awarded the Up and Coming Talent Award. This award has been notably won by Alessia Carra, Shawn Mendes, and Drake in previous years. Then followed Tom Cochrane who was accompanied by a guitarist. He played a few of his popular songs along with a version of “Big League” in memory of the Humbolt Broncos. Finally, it was Sarah McLachlan, who played piano solo, and joked about doing something different by performing some love songs. All in all it was a spectacular evening for an amazing cause!
